Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mops are increasingly capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on various floor types. Select robot vacuums best that allow you to select between a variety of modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
When I tried the S1, it was able to locate our downstairs, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, along with carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without colliding with them, and was able to cross thresholds for rooms that are raised without problem, although it sometimes had trouble navigating down the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop smoothly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.
The docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and fills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated waters prior to each mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will differ based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating well. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. But, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other models which require more effort to maintain.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs All-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is a powerful solution for your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a variety of advanced features like voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of just dragging a pad across the surface. The mops can be dried and cleaned at the base station, if required.
The robot is simple to setup and use, with a simple interface that guides you through the process. It comes with an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged for those hard-to-reach areas that the robot can't reach, as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and refilled whenever required. It also has a range of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily removes all kinds of debris, including the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it can be stuck on small mats and rugs around my home (which you can reduce by creating virtual boundaries in the app). Mopping capabilities are quite good, with a pair spinning mop heads that can lift and scrub the floor, rather than just moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when needed. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station as required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their latest flagship model has even more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results and is simple to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our list of the best mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush ensure an efficient, customized clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's most soiled areas efficiently, while eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other messes. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically swings out in order to get into areas that are difficult to reach and mop pads that extend along baseboards.
Its navigation is smart that can navigate small spaces and negotiating stairways without skipping a step. It can easily move from one room to another without changing direction, which is a handy feature for homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than other models, however, and tends to leave a thick margin around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.
The app features a simple user interface that is designed to be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop settings and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. It can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri which allows you to keep an eye on its progress from anywhere. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for real-time video monitoring. But, you'll need a stable Wi-Fi connection to operate it via the app as well as external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of picking up debris and dirt however, it's not able to get every last bit of dust. It's essential to clean your home frequently, every week. This is particularly important for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mop, is designed to do just that. It's easy to connect it to your WiFI network at home and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, including the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on price by eliminating mopping and using a less expensive plastic body.
Although it's no longer able to mop floors, the Q5 offers the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot at this price. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa, and an automatic empty system so you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It also has a clever app that lets you select your floor type and schedule cleanings. It also has an automatic water tank refill and wash system that allows hands-free operation.
The mops also stand out with their 2700Pa capacity to combat pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have problems with carpets with high piles or area carpets, but it didn't remove cat litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that lets it reach corners and tight places that other vacuums cannot. The K10 Plus also is able to collect more dust in the bin, which means you don't have to empty it as often. It also has washable filters which reduces the cost. The robot is able to detect carpets, and boost suction when needed. The app also allows you to mark areas that you want it to avoid and is a great feature.
