Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station features a handy LCD screen that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is able to operate for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount to wash manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under low-profile furniture, making it a great choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings on offer which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
